After suffering for weeks while BP fails to control the oil leak in the Gulf, I can understand how the residents of the affected communities would lose heart. Every day – every minute – further destroys their fragile ecosystem, their economy, their way of life, and their stewardship of the land they have made their home.
But one baker at Breaux Mart grocery store in New Orleans mixed a little irony in his or her usual batch of cakes and came up with this, the BP Cake.
As they say in New Orleans (and elsewhere), “Bon Appetit, y’all!”
